Togetherness

$320.00

When I looked through Tina’s photos, this one literally took my breath. It’s one of the most precious things I’ve ever painted. Can you just feel the love of these three baby swans (cygnets) sharing breakfast together? Oil Painting on a 9 x 12 Gessobord.

(This piece and a couple others in this collection are painted in layers instead of my normal wet on wet technique. I lay an umber layer to tone the gessobord and establish lights and darks. After that dries, I lay a gray layer to further establish contrast and values. This takes a few days to dry and then finally I add the color layer. The rich detail that comes together here is from this process.)
